Cop shoots himselt to death inside police station

A 47-year-old Delhi Police Sub Inspector today allegedly shot himself dead in a police station in the capital using his service revolver,police said.

A 47-year-old Delhi Police Sub Inspector today allegedly shot himself dead in a police station in the capital using his service revolver,police said.

Rohtas Kumar came to Kanjhawala police station for his morning shift around 8.15 am and shot himself after going to the building’s terrace. Rohtas hails from Bhiwani district in Haryana.

Kumar,an ex-serviceman,joined Delhi Police in 2008 as a probationary sub-inspector. Before joining Delhi Police,he was serving in the Indian Air Force.

The reason for him taking the extreme step was not known immediately.

A case has been registered.
