AKAL Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Wednesday condemned Congress leader Sajjan Kumar’s acquittal in an anti-Sikh riots case and blamed the Congress over the issue.

In a visit to Ludhiana,Singh said: “There is no evidence against Devinderpal Singh Bhullar (Khalistan militant) but still, his mercy plea was rejected. On the other hand, despite having all the evidence against Sajjan Kumar,he is not being punished. This is highly condemnable.. They (Congress) saved their own leader, who was responsible for communal riots in 1984.”

“Soon, the jathedars of all the five takhats will meet and we come up with a programme to ensure justice for Sikhs. We will also form a pressure group to force the Union government to given justice to Sikhs, who are minorities,” he added.

“Rules are different for minorities (Bhullar) and majority (Kumar),” said Singh.
