SVO files charge sheet against former J-K govt official

A charge sheet has been filed against former senior J-K govt official by SVO in disproportionate asset case.

A charge sheet has been filed against a former senior Jammu and Kashmir government official by State Vigilance Organisation in a disproportionate asset case,officials said here today.

The charge sheet against Mohammad Afzal Shah,a former PWD executive engineer,was filed yesterday in the court of Special Judge (Anti-Corruption),they said.

The corruption case was registered against Shah following a secret inquiry conducted by the SVO into charges that he possessed huge assets in the shape of residential houses,bank deposits,bank shares,jewellery and LIC policies.

The investigation established possession of assets to the tune of over Rs 59 lakh by the accused against his known sources of income,the officials said.
