To curb crime against women, the Jind police on Wednesday started a helpline for women, which will be functional round-the-clock.

Haryana DGP Ranjiv Singh Dalal, who on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of directions regarding crime against women through a video conference, asked all district SPs,range IGs and commissioners of police to set up such helplines at once across the state.

“The women helpline has been launched and women can contact the police at 8814011507. In case women are not satisfied with the response, they could contact me on my phone number 8814011500,” said Jind SP Sourabh Singh.

“If a woman lodges a complaint, the police will always be ready to act on that. The person who bears the crime is also equally responsible as the one who commits it. A woman inspector has been designated as the in-charge of the helpline,” he added.
