A local court has rejected a plea of actor Salman Khan to sell the Toyota Land Cruiser he was driving during the hit-and-run on September 28,2002,in which one person was killed and four hurt.

The Bandra metropolitan court rejected the application on Tuesday saying the car was evidence and the trial was not over,a police officer said.

Khan had filed the application in March, saying he did not need the car any more.

The vehicle had rammed a bakery in suburban Bandra and run over five persons sleeping on a pavement, following which the actor was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Khan,however,maintained it was an accident.
