Uttarakhand: SC seeks Centre’s view on floor test monitored by court

The hearing on the Centre’s appeal against the Uttarakhand High Court’s verdict quashing President’s Rule in the state will now resume Wednesday.

The Supreme Court Tuesday asked for Centre’s response on holding a floor test in the Uttarakhand Assembly under the court’s supervision.

“What if we order a floor test under our supervision? You take instructions and tell us tomorrow,” a bench led by Justice Dipak Misra told Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi.

The hearing on the Centre’s appeal against the Uttarakhand High Court’s verdict quashing President’s Rule in the state will now resume Wednesday.

A detailed hearing could not be conducted Tuesday as Justice Shiva Kirti Singh, the other judge on the bench, had to be a part of a special bench that was hearing matters related to medical entrance exams.
