Kidnapped Nepalese industrialist Suresh Kedia was Sunday rescued from East Champaran by Bihar Police. Kedia was abducted from Nepal’s Baea district on May 26.

The kidnappers, who allegedly belonged to one Bablu Dubey gang, had demanded ransom of Rs 100 crore, police said. Kedia is the owner of Kedia group of companies. Along with his three brothers, he has business interests both in Nepal and India.

Bihar Police had stepped in after the Nepal government approached the Indian government for help. A massive operation was then launched by the East Champaran and West Champaran police along the India-Nepal border. “A joint team from East Champaran and West Champaran conducted raids at Kotwa Saturday night,” said Bihar DGP PK Thakur.
