BREAKING ITS silence on reports that some top Hollywood stars and celebrities from other walks of life would join RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other leaders from the organisation in England during an event later this month, the Sangh has said that it has “not invited any Bollywood or Hollywood star, and there is no question of any of them attending the event.”
“The reports about some film stars attending the HSS event are not true. We don’t know where they (rumours) originated,” J Nandakumar, RSS’s all-India sah-prachar pramukh, said.
This is the first time that the RSS has spoken on the issue after it was widely reported that actor Leonardo DiCaprio, entrepreneur Richard Branson and broadcaster David Attenborough, among others, would attend the event to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh’s (HSS) UK unit.

The global wing of the RSS, the HSS has branches in 43 countries. A Sanskriti Mahashibir (mega cultural camp) will be held from July 29 to 31 in Hertfordshire, in England.
While the event is being compared by some to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at Madison Square Garden in New York in September 2014, an official release by the HSS says it would be a residential gathering of just over “2,200 people”.
Nilesh Solanki, HSS UK’s sampark pramukh (communication chief), told The Indian Express: “No Bollywood or Hollywood stars have been invited for the Mahashibir.”
Rejecting reports that Leonardo DiCaprio will “reinforce the virtues of a beef ban” and provide a “touch of stardust to Bhagwat’s anti-beef message”, Solanki said, “They are not true”.
