Condemning the attack on RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan by Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy, Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said that the BJP government is sending a message that everything is going to be a political decision. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot be given a benefit of doubt since the statement did not come from him, Swamy is a nominated member by the BJP and their team member… grotesque and bizarre statement needs to be questioned,” Jha said.
The Congress spokesperson was responding to the recent letter by Swamy to Narendra Modi to consider Raghuram’s termination as the RBI Governor.

“By doing so the government is sending a wrong signal to every foreign entity, investor, intelligentsia, media and leaders and it is a tragedy for India. Honestly, RBI needs Raghuram Rajan much more than Raghuram Rajan needing RBI,” Jha said.
