With bookings on the wane, Rajasthan tourism now plans to open up its iconic luxury locomotives like the ‘Palace on Wheels’ and ‘Royal Rajasthan on Wheels’ for lavish weddings.
Initially, the trains would be used to ferry guests to premium wedding venues in Rajasthan. However, if the numbers are good, the department could consider hosting weddings onboard the trains.
For now, the department has started offering wedding packages onboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, especially with lake city Udaipur as a wedding destination.
On offer, at the moment, are three and four night packages for weddings scheduled to be held at one of the several high profile palace venues in Udaipur.
Similar packages, with a minimum five-night rider, are also in the pipeline for the Palace on Wheels
