Prime Minister Narendra Modi  was overcome with emotion while addressing an event in Goa on Sunday as he talked about the “sacrifices” he had made for the country. In an emotionally-charged speech on his decision to demonetise currency notes of denominations Rs 500 and Rs 1000, the Prime Minister said, ““I was not born to sit on a chair of high office. Whatever I had, my family, my home-I left it for nation,” PM Modi said. He also said that the government plans to launch several schemes to ensure a “corruption-free” India and if he has to employ one lakh youths for this, he will do so. “This suffering is for 50 days; After cleanliness, not even a mosquito can fly,” he said.

PM Modi, who was in Goa to lay foundation stone for Greenfield International Airport, said that he is going to carry out an attack on all those possessing black wealth. “There will be an attack on all those who have benami money,” he said.

The PM also urged the citizens of the country to bear with the hardships that they have to face because of the currency withdrawal. He said that the hardships will be temporary, but will help in transforming India into a corruption-free country. “Co-operate with me on this for 50 days… If I commit any mistake, I am ready to face any punishment the country will give me. But I promise to deliver a corruption-free India,” PM Modi said.
