Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday handed over a list of 57 fugitives, including Christian Michel, Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi, against whom extradition requests are pending, to British counterpart Theresa May.

India has asked Britain to expedite the extradition requests against these fugitives who have been in the UK for several years.
Britain also handed over to India a list of 17 people whom it seeks custody under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty or against whom Letters Rogatory were issued, sources said.
Apart from Michel, who is an accused in the Rs 3,600-crore Agusta Westland helicopter deal case, and former IPL chief Lalit Modi, the Indian list includes names such as those of Navy War room leak case accused Ravishankaran, 2002 Gujarat riots accused Sameer Ali and one Rajesh Kapoor, an accused in a child abduction case.
Sources said the name of musician Nadeem, an accused in the Gulshan Kumar murder case, is likely to be on the list.
Early extradition of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who faces money laundering investigations in connection with wilful default of bank loans by his companies, has been sought, sources said.
Both countries are believed to have agreed to expedite pending extradition requests and help take all such cases to a logical conclusion, sources said.
