Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with union ministers Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj among others, on Saturday chaired the 11th meeting of Inter-State council in Delhi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Karnataka CM Siddharamiah skipped the meeting while Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal arrived a little late.
PM Modi started his speech by emphasizing the fact that there are few opportunities when heads of states and country come together.

“The nation can only progress if the state govts and the centre work shoulder to shoulder,” he said.
Talking about the internal security, PM said that it was not possible to strengthen it if intelligence exchange was not improved. He also said that it was a matter of joy that the states had collected 21 per cent more funds as compared to last year.
