Accusing the RSS of having nothing to do with the truth, Rahul Gandhi said Monday that Narendra Modi’s training makes him tell lies.
Campaigning in Riga constituency of Sitamarhi district, the Congress vice-president said the Prime Minister should start carrying out some of his promises. “Jhoot bolna band karo, kaam karna shuru karo. You are the PM of India,” Rahul said, reminding Modi of his campaign promises about price rise, black money and better minimum support prices.
In, Rahul used the same theme: “Modiji, stop telling lies and do your work. I know RSS has given you this training… but you are the prime minister.”
A day after Modi had held Congress allies RJD and JD(U) responsible for the migration of youth out of Bihar, Rahul countered, “You ask him (Modi) what treatment is meted out to Biharis by the BJP government in Maharashtra. You ask them what he does when Biharis are bashed up and chased out of there.”
In Riga, Rahul narrated a conversation with a Congress member who was once with the RSS. Rahul said he asked the man, “You have talked of desh, sangathan and yourself. Where does the truth come in all this?” Rahul said the man told him he had never been instructed on truth.
He talked of the two Dalit children burnt alive in Haryana and questioned the PM’s silence: “His minister said something on it, but Modiji did not say anything. He did not say anything on Dadri, he did not say anything on price rise.”
Rahul then talked of minister V K Singh’s comments on the incident: “If that individual were a Congress minister, he would have been thrown out of the party.”
