A call to the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA’s) control room Saturday, claiming bombs have been planted in the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, turned out to be a hoax.

The NIA received the call at 12.30 pm and immediately alerted police. “Several teams, along with bomb disposal squads, were rushed to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7, Race Course Road, as well as Kejriwal’s residence at Flagstaff Road. Though extensive checks were conducted, nothing was found,” said an officer. Police are trying to ascertain the identity of the caller. The call was made through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, said the officer.
