The Mumbai sessions court on Monday adjourned hearing of Keenan-Rueben murder case till May 5.

The court was expected to pronounce a verdict on the matter on Monday which has been pending since last five years.

Keenan’s father Valerian Santos, while talking to reporters, said “I would not ask for capital punishment because I know it’s not rarest of rare case.”

“But I will ask for life imprisonment because I want the accused to know what Keenan and Reuben’s families are going through,” he added.

Keenan Santos, 24, and Reuben Fernandes, 29, were repeatedly stabbed outside an eatery in Amboli on October 20, 2011 when they tried to protect their women friends from a group of men. Keenan succumbed to his injuries on the same day, while Reuben died 10 days later on October 31.
