Two Indians among 25 killed in Kabul blast

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast that also killed 14 Nepalis security guards working for the Canadian Embassy.

Two Indians were among the 25 killed on Monday morning in a suicide blast in Kabul. The MEA identified the victims as Ganesh Thapa and Govind Singh from Dehradun.

“Govt is in touch with the families of Indian nationals & is working with the Afghan Govt to repatriate their mortal remains at the earliest,” MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup wrote on Twitter.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast that also killed 14 Nepalis security guards working for the Canadian Embassy. The blast was carried out by a suicide bomber on foot, who targeted a mini bus transporting the guards.

Within hours, a second blast went off inside the vehicle of MP Ataullah Faizani in Chel Siton Area, injuring him. Officials said that five others were also wounded in the blast and two of them are in a critical position.
