ISRO 20-satellite launch: PM Modi congratulates scientists for ‘breaking new barriers’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation for breaking new barriers with its historic launch of 20 satellites on Wednesday.

ISRO on Wednesday launched a record 20 satellites from its Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. This is the largest-ever number of satellites to be launched into orbit at once by ISRO. Earlier, it had sent 10 satellites into orbit in a single mission in 2008.

The Prime Minister also took the occasion to praise ISRO and the accomplishments of its scientiests. “Over the years we developed expertise & capability to help other nations in their space initiatives. This is the skill of our scientists,” said PM Modi.

Modi also acknowledged the role of students from Pune and and Chennai in making the two academic/university satellites from India (SATHYABAMASAT and SWAYAM).
