The Shiv Sena has criticised the demonetisation move of the Narendra Modi government and said that the move has led to financial anarchy in the country. “Black money is a blot on your economy. We welcome Modi’s clean-up campaign. However, the path he has chosen to do so is extremely disorderly. After this decision, the country is facing financial anarchy and 125 crore citizens of the country are victims of this anarchy,” Shiv Sena said in its mouthpiece Saamana.
The Sena said that instead of striking at Pakistan, Modi has wounded Indian citizens who do not have any black money and the few who actually possess illegal money have safely parked it in foreign banks. “125 crore Indians are standing in queues in scorching heat without food and water. Do you expect them to back you in future? Are you repaying people the blessings they gave you by forcing them to come on the streets? This is blatant cheating,” the edit said.
The Sena has been vociferous in its criticism of the move. On Saturday, it had written to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seeking an extension for usage of demonetised notes till December 30.
