The Congress on Saturday slammed the Samajwadi Party government for its preoccupation with its “family drama” and for “neglecting law and order” in Uttar Pradesh.
AICC spokesperson Meem Afzal further alleged that the Bijnor communal clash, in which three men were killed, was “pre-planned”. He claimed that this was the same modus operandi as the Muzaffarnagar violence, which had also started with the alleged harassment of a girl.
Congress leader RPN Singh said, “The family drama…is affecting the state but the CM has been talking only about his family problems. He has not said anything about the communal clash in Bijnor.” BJP state unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya, meanwhile, said the Chief Minister should resign as he is “not able” to take decisions on his own.
