Bhubaneswar: Roadside vendors accept online payment

Amid the cash crunch in the wake of demonetisation, roadside gupchup sellers in Bhubaneswar have started offering the Paytm payment option to customers. Muna Patra, a roadside gupchup seller, has started selling his snacks using Paytm. “As Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes have been made invalid, I think Paytm would be a good payment option,” said Patra. Makar Das, a photocopy shop owner said that over the past two days, some of his customers were paying him through Paytm. Meanwhile, thousands of people had to return empty-handed from ATMs across the state after they ran dry.
