7 die in Bihar lightning strike

According to official, Seven persons died due to lightning in Chakand under Bela police station area of Gaya district in Patna.

Seven persons died and six others were injured in lightning strike in Bihar’s Gaya district today as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed grief.

In Patna, seven persons died due to lightning in Chakand under Bela police station area of Gaya district in the evening, an official release said.

A report from Gaya quoting District Magistrate Kumar Ravi further said that six others were injured in the lightning incident.

The lightning struck amid torrential rains as the victims were huddled in open space.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister expressed grief at the death of people in the tragedy.

Kumar ordered Rs 4 lakh as compensation to family of each of the dead immediately.
