Guru Nanak Jayanti NSE-BSE Holidays 2025: As traders and investors prepare for the forthcoming trading sessions, many are curious whether the Indian stock market is open or closed today as we commemorate Guru Nanak Jayanti, which marks the birth anniversary of the founder and first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.
As a result, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) are closed today, Wednesday, November 5, for trading today.
Trading on both stock exchanges will be suspended for the full day in all segments, including stocks, derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, currency derivatives, and electronic gold receipts.
Regular trading will resume on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The commodity market, MCX, will be closed for trading in the morning but will resume operations at 5:00 p.m.
After Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 and Diwali, this is the only holiday in November and the second-to-last of the year. The last stock market holiday will take place on Christmas, December 25, 2025.
The exchanges listed a stock market holiday calendar for 2025 early this year, which included 14 trade holidays. In addition to these declared holidays, commerce is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The exchanges plan to issue the 2026 holiday calendar by the end of December.
