Six dead as massive fire breaks out at Konaseema cracker factory in Andhra Pradesh

Police suspect that the accident could have occurred due to mishandling at the licensed crackers manufacturing unit.

Six people died, and two others were injured in a fire accident at a crackers manufacturing unit located in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh, police officials told news agency PTI.

Police suspect that the accident could have occurred due to mishandling at the licensed crackers manufacturing unit.

Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rahul Meena told PTI, “Six bodies have been found. We are verifying the details of the bodies. I think it was a licensed unit only.”

He also said the injured persons were shifted to a hospital.
