DRDO guesthouse manager at Pokhran Field Firing Range detained on suspicion of leaking info to Pakistan

Abhishek Shivhare, the Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police, confirmed the development. “Our police have detained the man for allegedly leaking information to Pakistan. We are investigating the matter and will find out more information. He was a private contractual worker who was hired as a manager at the guesthouse. The type of information that was allegedly leaked is yet to be investigated,” he told The Indian Express.

Jaisalmer police said the accused will be handed over to the Joint Interrogation Committee today.

The man has been posted here since 2018, officials said, adding that many senior officers and scientists from the Army and DRDO visit the range for war exercises, weapons testing, etc.

According to officials, he was on the radar of security agencies after they received information about calls coming from Pakistan on his mobile phone.

Rajasthan’s border areas remain on the radar of spies because it shares the longest border of 1,070 kilometres with Pakistan. The state also houses three large airbases and several military bases.
