Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his three-day visit to France on Wednesday, after which he flew to Washington DC and commenced his two-day visit to the United States. Carrying on the tradition of not greeting a world leader empty handed, PM Modi gave specially curated and hand-crafted gifts to French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
PM Modi gifted Macron a traditional Dokra artwork of musicians playing Indian instruments. Meanwhile, he gifted an exquisite silver hand-engraved table mirror with floral and peacock motifs to Brigitte Macron.
On the sidelines of the AI Summit in France, PM Modi also met US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance. The Prime Ministe also gave gifts to the couple’s three children – sons Vivek and Ewan, and daughter Mirabel Rose Vance.

Dokra craft, a technique older than 4000 years, is a traditional metal-casting technique from Chhattisgarh. The artform requires precise and intricate craftmanship, and the structures are usually made of brass, nickel and zinc alloys.
The two Dokra art pieces gifted to Macron by PM Modi shows musicians, crafted in gold metals and studded with stonework, playing a sarod and a tabla.
