Gold, silver prices corrected today: After a bumper rally over the past few weeks, the precious metals market witnessed a sharp correction on Friday, as both Gold and Silver prices tumbled on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The decline came amid a profit-taking wave triggered by specific external market factors that temporarily eased geopolitical and economic anxieties. Gold prices of 24 kt on MCX, which had recently touched a record high of Rs 1,32,294 per 10 grams, fell by around 3 per cent to Rs 1,25,957 per 10 grams. Silver saw an even steeper fall, declining by more than 8 per cent, slipping from Rs 1,70,415 per kg to Rs 1,53,929 per kg.
Traffic snarls in Diwali week: Traffic curbs have been imposed around Delhi and NCR cities to regulate traffic on Dhanteras and in Diwali week. Delhi this week has witnessed multiple traffic logjams, with commuters stuck on heavy traffic routes for hours. The traffic police in Delhi has also issued advisory for routes around South Delhi due to Dhanteras shopping and the Travis Scott concert in JLN Stadium today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on Dhanteras, the festival that marks the beginning of Diwali celebrations.
"Many happy Dhanteras wishes to all my family members across the country. On this auspicious occasion, I wish everyone happiness, good fortune, and health,” Modi said in a post in Hindi on X.
“May Lord Dhanvantari shower his bountiful blessings on everyone,” the prime minister said.
In a post on X, CM Nitish Kumar said, "Congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state and the country on Dhanteras. May the grace of Mahalakshmi remain upon everyone. May happiness, peace, and prosperity come to the state. May Bihar reach the pinnacle of progress."
Markets in Jharkhand are poised for brisk sales on the occasion of the Dhanteras festival on Saturday, amid the recent cuts in GST rates, traders said.
Sellers of automobiles, electronics and home appliances are betting big on the positive sentiment of consumers during the festival season, while jewellers are sceptical about sales due to skyrocketing gold prices, they said.
Dhanteras shoppers in Delhi may face traffic issues as Delhi Traffic Police on Friday issued an advisory for commuters ahead of American rapper Travis Scott's two-day concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, cautioning of possible congestion, announcing traffic restrictions and diversions around the venue.
