MP: journalist arrested in sex racket case

A journalist of a local news channel was arrested today by the police for alleged involvement in the sex-racket.

A journalist of a local news channel was arrested today by the police for alleged involvement in the sex-racket at Chandora village,police said today.

The journalist was identified as Shashank Mahule. Apart from him,three others including constable Nikhilesh Thakur were arrested in the case,police said.

Balaghat Police Station in-charge,Shyam Sunder Sharma,said Mahule was suspected to be involved in the racket.

The alleged kingpin,Assistant Sub-Inspector Mekhraj Shrineel,posted at Mandla district’s Bamni Banjar police station,is still absconding.

Balaghat police recently busted a sex racket at Chandora with the arrest of a couple and a woman. The accused also allegedly filmed their customers to blackmail them later.

Police suspect that more than 12 women were involved in the racket.
