A three-year-old boy was kidnapped allegedly by his family’s maid-servant in north-west Delhi but was rescued today within 12 hours of the incident — the second such case in the city in just over a week.
Police said the maid,identified as Rizwana Khattun,took the child to a market near his house in Adarsh Nagar at around 9.40 pm last night on the pretext of buying ice-cream but did not return.
“The boy’s father Farid Khan had engaged the maid about a month ago for house-keeping and for looking after his two minor kids. He has his own transport business,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Meenu Choudhary said.
During investigation,it was found that the maid was not employed through any placement agency.
