Condemning the killing of five migrant labourers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam, CPM politburo member Prakash Karat on Wednesday alleged that such terror activities are a fallout of the situation created by the Centre’s move to abrogate Article 370 that gave special status to the state.

Karat was speaking to reporters after addressing a public meeting at the Jawaharlal Nehru University organised by students’ union against the BJP government’s decision on J&K.

“It shows that a very dangerous situation has developed since the Modi government has abolished the state of Jammu and Kashmir and suppressed all civil liberties and democracy,” he told reporters.

“It is a fallout of the Centre’s move to abolish the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

CPM politburo member Mohammad Salim said in a tweet, “#ModiMadeDisaster in #Kashmir While security apparatus is busy in PR jobs under @AmitShah migrant workers from #Murshidabad are being killed. #PicnicForEuroFriends and #KillingsOfDeshiLabourers.”

CPM state secretary Surjyakanta Mishra urged the CM to send an all-party delegation to take up the matter with the central government.
