PM Modi on BJP foundation day: ‘Parties fighting existential crisis will keep conspiring against us but poor, deprived, Dalits protecting lotus’

Citing the free ration scheme and other welfare schemes, the Prime Minister said that the BJP believes in and implements measures to ensure social justice as it is “an article of faith” for the party. “Our party and party workers consistently derive inspiration from the values and teachings of Hanuman Ji. India has emerged much stronger to face the ocean-like big challenges. On Hanuman Jayanti, I pray for his blessings to all,” Modi said.

Modi said that while the Opposition only thinks about family, the BJP has given crores of people benefits under PM Anna Yojan, Jan Dhan Yojana and other schemes. “We have made the mantra of ‘Nation First’ our motto. BJP working with the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ (everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s faith and everyone’s effort),” he said.

Modi said that the results of Lok Sabha polls in 2014 was not just a change in guards, but a call by the people of India to see the country rise again. He slammed people with “baadshahi” (monarchic) mindset, saying they have been insulting poor, backwards, deprived since 2014. “Some people’s monarchic mindsets considered the people their slaves. In 2014, these oppressed spoke strongly and rejected this mindset. When they could not succeed, the hatred among these people with monarchic mindsets further grew,” he said.

Citing the abrogation of Article 370, Modi said that governments prior to the BJP’s could not take the step. “They (Opposition) cannot digest the work BJP is doing. Today, they have become so desperate that they have openly started saying ‘Modi teri kabr khudegi‘ (Modi, your grave will be dug),” he said.

Observing it as ‘Samajik Nyay Saptah’, or Social Justice Week, the BJP will reach out to several sections of society in a daily show of organisational strength in Delhi to mark its foundation day starting Thursday.

While the BJP’s foundation day programmes are scheduled at 14,000 locations in the national capital on Thursday, daily events focussed on one interest group or the other are on its to-do list till April 14.

As part of the celebrations, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda is scheduled to start a wall writing campaign from Bengali Market kick-starting it across the city. The Delhi BJP’s Yuva Morcha will organise a medical camp and employment counselling camp, Delhi BJP’s Scheduled Caste Front and Minority Front will jointly organise programmes to encourage self-reliance among the youth under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Scheme. The party’s Kisan Morcha will conduct a public awareness campaign regarding natural farming, Yamuna cleaning and the Shri Anna or Millets scheme, among other programmes.
