Dhurandhar box office collection day 1 early report: This isn’t exactly a development that no one saw coming, but the Aditya Dhar directorial, Dhurandhar, is sprinting towards quite an impressive opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has already earned Rs 21 crore crore net at the time of publishing.
Dhurandhar opened with 5833 shows in 2D and 89 shows in IMAX 2D all over the country. The film registered an overall 26.44% Hindi occupancy on Friday. It began with a 15.49% turnout for its morning shows, which increased to 28.24% by the afternoon. Attendance rose further in the evening, with occupancies reaching 35.59%, marking a steady upward trend through the day.

Ranveer Singh’s last theatrical release was the ensemble film Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. Also featuring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, the film earned Rs 43.5 crore on its opening day and went on to collect Rs 372 crore worldwide. Director Aditya Dhar’s previous and only other film was Uri (2019), starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam. Although it achieved an impressive worldwide total of Rs 341 crore, the film did not open with blockbuster numbers, earning Rs 8.2 crore on its first day.
Dhurandhar, meanwhile, has drawn a range of reactions from critics. An excerpt from SCREEN’s review of the film read, “To give credit where it is due, despite the many, many characters Dhurandhar introduces to give us a sense of Lyari’s power, crime, political and family dynamics, the plot is fairly comprehensible. Khanna taps into his hidden Michael Corleone to play a slender, sensitive, family man gangster, who gradually loses his way to ambition. Pandor is impressive as his loyal cousin and the second-in-command Uzair, and Bedi is a delight as the venal politician Jameel, who will break bread with anybody for a slice of power.”

Dhurandhar will have a sequel, which—according to the film’s climax—is set to release on the occasion of Eid on March 19, 2026. KGF star Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic is also scheduled for the same date, leading to a major box-office clash.
