While the National STEM Day is celebrated on November 8, National Science Day is celebrated on February 28 every year across the country to mark and celebrate the contributions of scientists towards the development of India. National Science Day is observed to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect. On February 28, 1928, CV Raman announced the discovery of the Raman Effect and for it, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930.
