UGC NET 2025 City Intimation Slip Updates: When will NTA release city slip at ugcnet.nta.ac.in?

UGC NET is held to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD.’ and ‘admission to PhD only’ in Indian universities and colleges.

The candidates qualifying under the ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD’ category will be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD but not for the award of JRF.

The candidates qualifying under the ‘admission to PhD only’ category will be eligible for admission to PhD only but not for the award of JRF and/or appointment as Assistant Professor.

The UGC NET June 2025 exam will start on June 25 and end on June 29. The NTA has already released the subject-wise UGC NET 2025 exam dates.

The University of Delhi (DU) has launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for admission of applicants for its undergraduate courses for the 2025-26 academic year in its 79  colleges. Applicants can register at the CSAS portal to get admission to the University– admission.uod.ac.in. This year, there are 71,624 UG seats (general and reserved) offered for DU under its UG admissions 2025 cycle.

There will be two phases in the CSAS portal, and phase one has started today. Phase two will start after NTA announces CUET UG 2025 results. As of now, students are waiting for the provisional answer keys to be released.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered that the evidence used to justify the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam held on June 19, 2024, was doctored. A screenshot of the question paper had circulated on Telegram, appearing to show a leak before the exam.

However, the CBI’s investigation revealed that the image was actually shared after the exam’s first session and was manipulated to seem like it was posted earlier. This misleading evidence led the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) to alert the UGC, resulting in the exam’s cancellation.

In the previous cycle, the UGC NET June 2024 registration deadline was extended multiple times. Initially set to close on May 10, it was first extended to May 15, and subsequently to May 19, 2024.   The fee payment deadline was also moved to May 20, 2024. Candidates were allowed to make corrections in their application forms from May 21 to May 23, 2024.  

–The last date to apply is May 12, 2025, until 11:50 PM.

–The deadline for fee payment is May 13, 2025, up to 11:50 PM.

–Correction window: May 14-15, 2025.

–Exam dates: June 25- June 29, 2025.

The application deadline for the CSIR UGC NET is June 23, with exams on July 26, 27, and 28, 2025

According to the notice, the UGC NET will be held between June 25 and June 29, 2025, across two sessions each day. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted over five days, with each day divided into two time slots: 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. Check timetable here

Appearing candidates have to note that this is not the UGC NET admit card, but is an advance information for the allotment of the city where the examination centre will be located, to facilitate the candidates. The hall tickets will be issued later.

UGC NET is conducted twice every year in months of June and December to check eligibility of Indian candidates for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor and admissions to PhD programmes in the universities across the country.

The first shift will run from 9 am to 12 pm, and the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The UGC NET city intimation slip for 2025 provides students with the city; however, other details like centre name and address, exact venue and reporting time will be specified on the admit card.

The UGC NET exam will start on June 25 and end on June 29.

Once NTA releases the city slip, the admit cards will be released two or three days before the exam.

Students will be able to check and download the city slip from the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will likely release the city intimation slip for the UGC NET June session 2025 this week.
