Mirabai Chanu has won World Championships silver. She lifted a total of 199kg (84kg snatch + 115kg clean and jerk) to win the silver medal in the 48 kg class at the World Weightlifting Championships 2025 in Forde, Norway. North Korean weightlifter Ri Song-gum dominated the event by winning three gold medals in the 48 kg division. Ri has set a new world record with a 91 kg snatch, a 122 kg clean and jerk, and a total lift of 213 kg.

The Indian U19 side, led by Ayush Mhatre, completed an emphatic victory in the first Youth Test against Australia U19 in Brisbane.
