Summer Vacation 2024: States across the country are announcing summer vacations in all government and private schools due to a heatwave that is taking over several parts of the country.
As per the AIR, the Meteorological Department predicted a heat wave in a few pockets of Punjab, Haryana- Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihra, East Rajasthan, Gujrat, Saurashtra and Kutch on May 18. Therefore, summer vacation is being declared in these regions.
The Punjab government today preponed the summer vacations of schools students due to the ongoing heatwave in the country. As per the official update, the summer vacations will now be held from May 21 to June 3.
The Haryana Directorate of School Education has announced summer vacation in all government and private schools of the state from June 1 to June 30, 2024.
The notice was issued by the Directorate of School Education on May 17 and directed to the district education officer, district elementary education officer, head of school, section basic education officer, and block education officer.
The notice further mentioned that the government and private schools will reopen on June 1, 2024.
The temperature is crossing over 40- Degree Celsius marks in some Punjab and Haryana region. Additionally, the Meteorological department has issued orange alerts in southern parts of Punjab and Haryana along with warnings for severe heat waves.
Additionally, the Rajasthan Education Department has declared a summer vacation from May 17 to June 30 for all government and private schools in the state. The department has also warned schools not to hold any additional extra classes to make students attend school.
As per the Delhi school academic calendar the summer vacation in the national capital begins from May 11 and concludes on June 30. This year, a total of 50 days of summer vacation were declared in the city.
According to the State Education Board the summer vacation for students enrolled in all government and private schools of Madhya Pradesh started from May 1 and will continue till June 15.
