CSIR UGC NET 2025 Final Answer Key Out: Life Sciences question dropped; results expected next

NTA CSIR UGC NET June Session 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final answer keys for the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) 2025. Candidates who appeared for the June session exam can access the final answer keys through the official website at csirnet.nta.ac.in.

Notably, one question from the Life Sciences (703) paper, has been dropped, bearing number ‘835594736‘. The exam was conducted on July 28 for a total of 1,95,241 candidates. The last date to raise objections on NTA CSIR UGC NET provisional answer keys on August 3. With the final answer keys released, candidates can expect the result and scorecards to be released anytime soon, on the portal.

The CSIR NET June 2025 session was held for eligibility determination for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes in universities and institutions across the country.

Here’s a step-by-step guide for candidates awaiting their results, outlining how to check and download their scorecards once they are released —

Step 1: Candidates must go to the official website at csirnet.nta.ac.in

Step 2: Locate the link for “CSIR UGC NET June 2025 Results” on the homepage

Step 3: Fill in the credentials, such as application number and date of birth

Step 4: The results will be shown, view and download for future reference

The exam covers five subjects, namely, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences (which includes Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences), Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

CSIR UGC NET June Session: 2024 Performance

In 2024 June session, the CSIR UGC NET was conducted on July 25, 26, and 27 across 187 cities from all over the country. The number of candidates who registered for the CSIR UGC NET session was 2,25,335 out of which 1,63,529 candidates appeared for the test.

Under category 1, as many as 1,963 candidates have qualified for the test for the Junior Research Fellowship under the CSIR JRF scheme. These candidates are also eligible for Assistant Professor subject to minimum eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.

Only 11 candidates have qualified for the test for the award of the JRF under the CSIR JRF scheme. These candidates are not eligible for the position of Assistant Professor.

A total of 1,875 candidates have been shortlisted for the Junior Research Fellowship under the UGC JRF scheme. These candidates are also eligible for the position of Assistant Professor.

Under category 2, as many as 3,172 candidates are eligible for Assistant Professor and Admission to PhD. While, under category 3, a total of 10,969 candidates have become eligible for admission to PhD only.
