Last year, the result of SSLC examination was declared on May 3, 2019. As many as 4,31,762 qualified the exam and the overall pass percentage was at 97.84 which is nearly 2 per cent higher than the previous year’s 95.98.

In order to pass the exam, a candidate is required to get a minimum of 35 per cent marks in each subject out of 100 marks. This is applicable for passing in compartmental system also. For the Science subject consisting of theory and practical examination, minimum marks to pass is 20 out of 75 in theory and 15 marks out of 25 in practical. This includes passing under the compartmental system also.
544 students appeared in nine examination centres in the Gulf, out of which 538 students qualified for higher education, with a pass percentage of an impressive 98.9. The highest number of students (2435 of them, to be precise) getting A plus in all their subjects are from Malappuram district in Kerala.

In 2018, Ernakulam district depicted the best performance with 99.12 per cent pass percentage. The worst performing district was Wayanad, with 93.87 per cent.

The government had set up 54 centralised camps for the valuation of the answer sheets which began on April 5 and ended on May 2.
