In 2022, 15-year-old Archit Patil boy designed and developed a postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) cup that can measure the amount of blood loss during childbirth. On Wednesday, the Maharashtra boy cracked the JEE Main 2024. securing 100 percentile.

The postpartum haemorrhage cup can help doctors to timely measure the amount of blood loss during childbirth which is vital in the management of postpartum haemorrhage, said the boy during an interview with The Indian Express. Hailing from Maharashtra, he moved to Rajasthan’s Kota to prepare for JEE, soon after completing his Class 10.

“If you are going to have to go out of the house for it, then why not at the best place where you can get good guidance from experienced tutors?” said Dr Patil adding that Archit’s mother’ Dr Archana Patil who is an anaesthesiologist accompanied him to Kota where he is preparing for JEE Advanced at Allen Career Institute.
The 17-year-old boy now aims to clear JEE Advanced which is scheduled for May 26. He wants to make his career in computer science engineering and is exploring options beyond IITs. “We are looking for some foreign institutes,” said his father Dr Rahul Patil, a gynecologist from Jalgaon.
Archit’s success mantra has been to stick to schedule and not keep a backlog. “After lectures, he would not only complete the homework daily but would also take out time for self-study every day. Following the schedule prepared by tutors kept him on track, after all, JEE-preparation is not a smooth journey,” told Dr Patil.
Archit has participated in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) where he received an international exposure, said his father adding, “But focus for now is on preparing for JEE-Advanced.”
