Candidates should note that in the BE/ BTech paper, all questions will be of four marks, and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. For every unanswered question, candidate will get zero marks. Merit will be determined by the conversion of raw scores in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and the conversion of the total into NTA scores. Overall merit will be prepared by merging NTA scores of all shifts of all days.

“The marks scored by them is not a true reflection of their actual ability therefore those students with less marks than the eligibility criteria (75%) for this year’s examinations can score very high marks in the upcoming JEE Main 2023, and if a fair chance is denied to them that will affect the future (of) lakhs of bright (students),” the PIL stated.
The NTA will release JEE Main 2023, Session 2 result a few days after the session 2 exams conclude. Once released, candidates will be able to check their result at the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.
In Physics, questions from Class 11 and 12 syllabus were approximately of the same weightage. In Chemistry, majorly questions were from the Class 11 syllabus, and in Mathematics, majorly questions were from the Class 11 syllabus. Overall, the questions from Class 11th syllabus dominated the paper.
Questions from Mechanics, Current electricity, Semiconductors and Modern Physics were duly represented in the paper. Two questions from Current Electricity and two to three from Magnetism were there in the paper. Other chapters were also included in due proportions. There were a good number of numerical which were largely formula based. According to students XII Physics had more weightage in the paper. PYQ were also there in the paper.

Overall, it was a balanced paper which can be solved in the stipulated time. Average students found Mathematics difficult. The difficulty level-wise order according to a large section of students is Mathematics > Chemistry > Physics
The paper was by and large based on NCERT books. Numerical were very few from Physical Chemistry and but most of the questions were theoretical. Overall, the questions from the Physical, Organic and Inorganic branches were more or less evenly distributed.
Mathematics was moderately tough, while Physics was easy amongst the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of moderate level, as per students.

Chemistry had total 30*questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 10 Numerical based questions out which only 5 had to be attempted. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response and 0 in all other cases. Total marks of this section were 100.
Mathematics was Moderate level while Physics was Easy amongst the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of Moderate level as per students.

The mathematics paper was moderate but slightly time taking due to the lengthy calculations involved. A few good questions were interspersed sporadically. Questions were asked from Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors and 3D and Permutation and Combinations were there. Vector and 3D and Conics were dominant in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered. Again, practice through mock tests holds the key.

The second shift of day 3 of Joint Entrance Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency will commence at 3 pm and will conclude at 6 pm.
Students will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after 2:30 pm for the afternoon shift. Once they have entered the exam hall, the invigilator will give instructions from 2:30 pm to 2:50 pm. Candidates can log in to read instructions at 2:50 pm. The exam will commence at 3 pm.
Keeping in view the Covid-19 protocols, students were made to go through a sanitising station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever. They were also given fresh surgical masks, their personal masks were not allowed. Students were also allowed to bring their own sanitizer (50 ml)
Things students were allowed to carry the following items with them
— Admit card along with self declaration (undertaking)
— A transparent ball point pen
— Additional photograph to be pasted on attendance sheet
— Transparent water bottle
— Sugar tablets/fruits in case the candidate is diabetic

Questions were asked from Gravitation, EM Waves, Wave Optics, Ray Optics, Electrostatics, Magnetism and Matter, Current Electricity and Modern Physics, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work Power Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics, Semi-Conductors, Communication Systems. MCQs were relatively easy. Some assertion reasoning questions were also asked.
