JEE Advanced 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati conducted the JEE Advanced 2023 exam on June 4. The response sheets of students were released on June 9 at the official website — jeeadv.ac.in.
As per experts, since the exam was of moderate difficulty level, the qualifying cut-off is expected to be higher than last year.
“This year, we may see some increase in the final cut-off marks as the overall number of students who appeared this year was higher than last year,” Nitin Arora Assistant Director (Engg) – Aakash BYJU’s Digital said.
“For the unreserved category, the aggregate cut-off is expected to be around 17 per cent while it will be around 15 per cent for EWS and OBC category candidates. For SC and ST students, the cut-off is expected to be around 8 per cent,” Arora said.
JEE Advanced response sheet and question papers are already released by IIT-Guwahati.
Saurabh Kumar, Chief Academic Officer, Vidyamandir Classes said that cut-off marks for the unreserved category will be between 49 to 52 marks. “For OBC and EWS, the cut-off marks will be 80 per cent of the general category’s cut-off and for SC and ST students, it will be 50 per cent of the general category,” Kumar said.
The 2022 pass percentage stood at 26.17 per cent, compared to 29.54 per cent in 2021. The qualifying marks were also lowered as compared to 2021 to get a pool of qualified candidates at least twice the number of total seats on offer. The aggregate percentile for general, EWS and OBC was 13.89 per cent while it was 7.78 per cent for SC and ST category.
