The Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Madras has extended the deadline for applications to its Executive MBA (EMBA) programme till October 26, 2025. The two-year in-person degree is designed for mid-career working professionals and aims to equip them with functional and integrative management perspectives relevant to modern business challenges. Interested candidates can apply through the official DoMS admission portal at doms.iitm.ac.in/admission.
According to IIT Madras, the EMBA programme is structured to accommodate the schedules of professionals, with classes held on alternate weekends. This flexible format allows participants to pursue the course without taking a break from their careers.
The curriculum combines theoretical learning with experiential exposure to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of business leadership in evolving market conditions. The programme trains professionals to navigate both local and global business environments, developing the skills required to lead modern organizations effectively.
Experiential learning through capstone projects
The two-year curriculum includes three field-based capstone projects that allow participants to apply classroom learning to real-world business challenges. These projects are designed to be experiential in nature, enabling students to examine specific management issues in their organizations or industries.
The EMBA’s mission, as stated by the institute, is to provide students with deep functional expertise, a broad industry perspective, and the ability to make integrative business decisions.
International immersion and global exposure
In recent years, IIT Madras has incorporated an International Immersion Learning Program into the EMBA curriculum. The 10-day hands-on module is conducted in collaboration with the IESEG School of Management, Paris, focusing on Global Leadership and Cultural Intelligence.
During the latest edition, participants attended classroom sessions in Lille and Brussels, combining academic instruction from IESEG faculty with field visits to businesses and cultural institutions across Northern France and Belgium.
Eligibility and selection process
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks and at least three years of work experience after graduation.
The selection process will be conducted on November 8 and 9, 2025, at the IIT Madras campus. It will include a written aptitude test and personal interview for shortlisted candidates.
According to the institute, the EMBA programme is designed to build managerial competencies that address the demands of today’s dynamic business landscape. Through its combination of classroom learning, applied projects, and international exposure, IIT Madras aims to train professionals capable of leading organizations through technological, economic, and global transitions.
