
The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) today launched a new online masters degree programme in Energy Policy and Regulation (EPR). The admission portal is open and the classes will start from January 2024.
The new e-masters programme has been introduced with an aim to cater to skill development as per the evolving demands of the energy sector and foster innovation. Working professionals and students with a bachelors or a masters degree in the relevant discipline including in engineering, economics, law, commerce, management and finance desiring to enhance their knowledge in emerging areas in the energy sector can enroll in this programme.
Candidates working in regulatory commissions, electricity generation, transmission, distribution, energy trading, consumer services, renewable energy, market operations, adjudication or consulting, will be provided with the relevant skills and industry-focused knowledge from domain experts to thrive in their roles through this programme.
The two-year online programme is designed with a flexible, executive-friendly structure to enable enrolled candidates to concurrently accommodate their work commitments, an IIT Gandhinagar.
The course has been designed to include live interactive sessions in the evenings and on weekends and will be assisted by self-paced learning modules for strategic learning and discussions.
The e-Masters programme will not require the GATE qualification for admission. On successful completion of the online degree programme, the candidates will get IITGN Alumni status as well as mentorship and placement support from the institute.
During the programme, participants will also get the opportunity to meet experts and visit the gateways of energy transitions during their 30 days of visits, spread over two years, to the IIT Gandhinagar campus, an institute statement said.
