The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, and Tiruchirappalli on September 9 announced the launch of the Joint Admission Process (JAP) for MBA admissions for the next academic session. As mentioned in the press release, IIM Raipur will be the coordinator for JAP 2026, handling the admission process for all four participating IIMs.

JAP 2026

JAP 2026 is a joint initiative showing commitment to excellence, collaborative resource management, and delivering a transparent, aspirant-focused admission experience that meets IIM standards, states the IIM release.

What if you don’t get admission into a Tier-1 college?

It also aims to streamline the admissions process for aspirants, allowing them to apply to four IIMs through a single window. Post the declaration of the CAT result, aspirants will be eligible to get admission in any of the four participating IIMs through a joint admission process.

In light of this announcement, Prof Sanjeev Prashar, director-in-charge, IIM Raipur, said, “We are honoured to announce the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026, fostering collaboration among four premier IIMs. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to resource optimisation, student-centric admissions, and strengthening the IIM brand for future leaders. JAP 2026 reflects our dedication to maintaining high standards and opening new opportunities for aspiring MBA candidates.”

Last year, IIM Sambalpur decided to independently conduct its admission process for its MBA programme. The same admission process will be applied to the other launched course, that is, the MBA in Business Analytics, which offers an option for a dual degree from an international institute. The process was implemented in the current academic year.

Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has been ranked as the top institute in India in the Financial Times (FT) rankings of Master’s in Management 2025. The Institute secured 28 rank, surpassing IIM Ahmedabad, which, according to the NIRF 2025 rankings, is the best management institute in the country.
