CAT 2024 Result Date Updates: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has released the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 result at iimcat.ac.in. This year, 14 candidates have scored 100 percentile of which only one is woman. Moreover, 13 aspirants are from an engineering background while only one is a non-engineer, as per IIM-C.
The provisional answer was published on December 3, and the candidates were given time till December 5 to raise objections. No changes are made in the provisional answer keys.
The experts analysed that CAT 2024 was easier as compared to the last two years’ examination. Further, they expect that the exam can have a higher cut-off. Of the 2.93 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 1.07 lakh are female candidates, 1.86 lakh are male candidates and 5 are transgender candidates.

IIM Sambalpur, in its new academic year 2025-2026, will independently conduct its admission process for its MBA programme. While as many as 405 objections were received in the provisional answer key, the panels of sectional review experts did not make any changes in the final answer key. The CAT 2024 score card will be released on the basis of the final answer key.

In order to ensure fairness and equity in the comparison of the performances of candidates across different test sessions, the scores of candidates in CAT will be subjected to a process of Normalisation. The Normalisation process adjusts for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms. After normalisation across different forms, the scores are further normalised across different sections. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) has registered a surge in registrations this year, reaching an all-time high of 142,235 applications. Last year, the number of XAT applications had increased from 96,438 in 2023 to 1.35 lakh in 2024. While during the pandemic, the entrance test witnessed a dip in the applications — about 79,843 in 2021 — however, it has steadily increased since 2023.
