GATE Admit Card Release Date : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 admit cards on the official website– gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will be conducted between February 1 and 16.
After the IIT Roorkee has released the GATE admit card 2025 and candidates download it, they must make sure that certain information in the admit card is printed correctly.
In case the candidate finds some discrepancy in the GATE hall ticket 2025, they should immediately contact the GATE administering body and get it sorted before the start of the exam.

GATE 2025 will be held for a total of 30 test papers. Candidates can appear for one or two test papers only. The forenoon session exams will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the afternoon session exams will be conducted between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm.
Candidates will not be allowed to enter after 30 minutes from the starting time of examination under any circumstances. The candidates who enter late will not get any extra time to complete the exam.

GATE score can be used for seeking financial assistance towards the Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts; and Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Things candidates cannot carry inside the exam centre:

- Physical calculators
- Wallets
- Watches of any type,
- Any electronic/communicating devices
- Books
- Papers
- Loose sheets
- Pen/ pencil box/ pouch and any other similar items
Only one scribble pad at any point of time will be provided to the candidate that can be used to do the rough work. To obtain a second scribble pad, the candidate should return the first scribble pad. Candidates have to return any scribble pad in their possession at the end of the examination. The virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen.

As the exams are inching closer candidates can prepare by practicing mock tests or downloading old question papers from the official GATE website -- gate.iitk.ac.in. The old question papers are available since 2007.

The GATE cutoff for IIT is the minimum score the aspirant requires to be eligible for admission to the desired MTech program. Each IIT releases branch-wise and category-wise cut-offs. Candidates must ensure that certain things in the admit card are printed correctly. These are:
--Name of the candidate: The names of the candidate and their parent's name should be spelt correctly
--Paper combinations: The candidates must check if the paper combinations they applied for are the same
--Photograph of the candidate: The photograph of the candidate should be the same and visible. A candidate will not be allowed to appear if the photograph on the admit card is different.
--Signature of the candidate: The signature of the candidate must be the same.
--GATE 2025 exam centre: Students should check the exam centre and other details on the GATE admit card.
The types of questions in GATE 2025 will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. In MCQs, only one out of four options is correct. In MSQs, one or more than one out of four options is/are correct; and for NAT questions, the answer must be keyed in using a virtual keypad. The candidates must use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided for their calculations.
