In a memorandum submitted to the District Collector, T N Hariharan, some teachers of government schools and colleges said, since the government has fixed Rs 2,000 limit for
exchange or withdrawal of cash, it would be difficult for teachers to wait in long queues outside banks, every time they needed money.

As this would adversely affect the functioning of educational institutions and the teachers, the administration should take efforts to disburse their salary in cash or allow
them to withdraw the entire amount, so that their day-to-day work was not affected, they added.

There would be serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs, on November 30, the day the government credits salary to the accounts of its staff and employees.
