CUET UG 2023 Results Updates: This year, the NTA saw a significant rise in the number of applicants. Over 87,000 students registered from the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The NTA had to push the date of the examination in J&K from May 21 to May 26, as students who were allotted centres in neighbouring states complained about the same. The exam date was pushed to accommodate their requests.

Despite having fewer registrations than men, the results of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) — declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) Saturday — show that over 60% of the 195 candidates who scored 100 percentile in at least four subjects are women.
According to data seen by The Indian Express, out of the 195 candidates who topped in at least four subjects, 121 are women. Read full report here

Some candidates are tweeting against the marking scheme. Let's decode it. For every correct answer or the most appropriate answer, NTA will grant 5 marks. Any incorrect option marked will get minus one marks and an unanswered will not be given any mark.
These are the most-opted languages in CUET this year
Over 22,000 candidates have scored 100 percentile marks. The maximum top scorers were in English, followed by Biology and Economics.
Raw scores are converted into percentile scores and then into normalised scores for CUET UG. The universities have been instructed to consider only the normalised raw score while preparing merit lists. NTA claims that this method has proven to be accurate for estimating normalised marks of candidates when the tests are held in multiple sessions with varying difficulty levels in a given subject.
To calculate the normalised score three variables are required:
raw score of the candidate (A)
total number of candidates with a score equal to or less than her raw score (B),
total number of candidates in that particular session (C).
The mathematical formula applied is B divided by C multiplied by 100.
For example, take the case of a student who appears in a session with 41,326 other candidates. Say, she obtains 121 marks, scoring more than 37,244 other candidates of her session. Her normalised percentile score will be 37,244/41,326X100, which comes to 90.1224411. Percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places.
The CUET UG 2023 was held in multiple shfts on different days across different centres, due to which the difficulty level of the papers cannot be the same.
“In addition to the above difficulty, in subjects such as sports or fine arts, some weightage (e.g. 25%) is given to the skill component by some universities. However, adding raw marks of the skill component and the remaining weightage (75%) of percentile cannot be done to prepare the rank list because it would be like adding oranges to apples,” UGC Chief explained in indianexpress.com.
Therefore, the NTA uses the normalisation method to ensure that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to any such factor.
UGC Chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar tweeted, "Glad we could announce the CUET-UG results as planned on July 15. NTA conducted the test in 9 phases over 34 days from May 21 to July 5. 14.99 lakh students registered. 2200 subject experts and 800 translators were involved in preparing 2305 Question Papers and 148520 questions."
