First Division: Students who score 300 marks or more in total are placed in first division category

Second Division: Students who score between 225 and 300 marks are placed in the second division category

Third Division: Students who score between 150 and 225 marks are placed in third division category

The Bihar board has also announced the Class 12 vocational results today in addition to the science, arts and commerce results. 85.38 per cent students have qualified the Class 12 BSEB vocational exams.

BSEB will declare the Bihar board Class 12 inter supplementary exam result by May 31, 2024. The exam dates are not announced yet.

This time, too, Bihar Board has become the first out of state and national boards to declare the Class 12 board exam results.

A total of 1,08,202 students have shifted from CBSE, CISCE and other state boards to BSEB, an official release from the Bihar Board stated.

The Bihar Board 12th Result was announced today by BSEB chief, Anand Kishore.

A total of 39,658 candidates appeared in the Inter Commerce exams of which a total of 26,338 are boys and 13,320 are girls.

In the Inter exams of Commerce, a total of 25,157 candidates have passed in the first division, 10,678 candidates have passed in the second division and 1,794 candidates have passed in the third division.

A total of 37,629 candidates have passed in Commerce, which is 94.88% of the candidates who appeared in the examination of this stream.

A total of 6,34,480 candidates appeared in the Intermediate exam from Arts stream, out of which a total of 2,47,908 are boys and 3,86,572 are girls. A  total of 1,73.823 candidates got first division in Arts in the Inter exams. A total of 2,84,454 candidates have passed in second division and 88.344 candidates have passed in third division.

Thus, a total of 5.46.621 candidates have passed the Arts stream, which is 86.15% of the candidates who appeared in the examination of this faculty.

Students need to key in roll code, roll number and a security check to check their BSEB scorecards.

A total of 6,17,334 candidates appeared in the Science stream, out of which a total of 3,95,069 are boys and 2,22,265 are girls. Out of these, a a total of 3,25,848 candidates have passed in the first division, 2,09,705 candidates have passed in the second division and 6,455 candidates have passed in the third division. Thus, a total of 5.42,008 candidates have passed in the Science, which is 87.80% of the candidates who appeared in the examination of this faculty.

Out of a total of 12,91,684 students who appeared for the BSEB Inter 2024 exams, 5,24,939 students secured first division. A total of 5,04,897 students attained second division marks, and 96,595 students received third division.

Girls have outperformedd boys in all three streams:

In Arts, the passing percentage of girl students is 88.07%, while 8317% boys have passed.

In Commerce, 96.91% girl students have passed, while the passing percentage of boys is 93.86%.

Similarly, in Science, 89.71% girl students have passed, while the passing percentage of boys is 86.73%.

A total of 87.21% candidates have passed the BSEB Inter exams, out of which 5,24,939 candidates have passed in the first division, 5,04,897 candidates have passed in the second division and 96,595 candidates have passed in the third division.

Including all three streams, 6,22,217 girl students appeared in this examination, out of which 5,52,783 girl students have passed, whose passing percentage is 88.84%. A total of 6,69,467 students, including all three streams, appeared in this examination, out of which 5,73,656 students were successful, which is 85.69% of the total.

The overall pass percentage has increased in the past few years. This year, the board has recorded the highest pass percentage since the past 5-6 years: 

Students who are not satisfied with their Bihar 12th result can request for inter results scrutiny, verification, or re-counting of marks from March 28, 2024.

This year, a total of 622217 female students appeared for the Class 12 exams, and 552783 (88.84%) students cleared the exams. Similarly, 669467 boys appeared for the BSEB 12th exams, out of which 573656 students (85.69%) cleared the inter exams.

A total of 1291684 students appeared for the exam, out of which 1126439 students have cleared the exam, taking the pass percentage to 87.21 per cent.

Bihar Board 12th Result's overall pass percentage improves. The Patna Board has recorded the highest pass percentage, as compared to past five years. The overall pass percentage is 87.21 per cent this year.

In 2023, the board increased the number of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in various subjects. This meant that the subjects comprising both theory and practical exams featured 42 MCQs, of which students were required to answer 35. Moreover, question papers with 100 marks included 60 MCQs, out of which students had to respond to 50 questions. Similarly, papers worth 50 marks contained 30 MCQs, with students needing to attempt 25 questions.

Before 2016, the Bihar Board faced challenges related to cheating and toppers. With that in mind, the board instituted measures to curb all malpractices. Among these initiatives was the verification process of the toppers at their Patna office. Through this process, the board ensures transparency and eliminates any possibility of malpractice in the Bihar Board 12th results. 

Students who secure 300 marks or more in total will be placed in the first division category. Those scoring between 225 and 300 marks will earn the second division, whereas students scoring between 150 and 225 marks will be classified in the third division.

The BSEB 10th (matric) result will be declared later at the official BSEB websites. However, today, the Bihar Board will today (March 23) the Bihar Board 12th Result today ar 1:30 pm.

The BSEB Inter Class 12 toppers were last year given rewards in the form of laptops and cash prizes.

Girls who achieved top ranks werre awarded Rs 1 lakh, along with a Kindle and a laptop, whereas second and third position holders were given Rs 75,000, a Kindle, a laptop, and Rs 50,000, a laptop, and a Kindle respectively. The fourth and fifth rank achievers were awarded Rs 15,000 along with a laptop. Students securing the second position in all streams were rewarded Rs 75,000, a Kindle, and a laptop, while third-place holders received Rs 50,000, a Kindle, and a laptop. Furthermore, the fourth, fifth, and sixth position holders across all streams received Rs 15,000 and a laptop.

In each student's BSEB 12th scorecard, essential details include their name, roll code, roll number, and chosen stream will be mentioned. Additionally, it will also list the subjects taken by the candidate, alongside their respective marks obtained in both theory and practical exams. The aggregate marks attained by the candidate and their division status, such as first, second, or third division, will also be included in the scorecard.

According to the data released this year, a total of 13,04,352 students participated in the intermediate exam. Among them, 6,26,431 were girls, and 6,77,921 were boys. These exams took place in 1,523 examination centers spread across the state.

To pass their Inter exams, Bihar Board students must achieve a minimum of 33 percent overall. However, practical subjects necessitate obtaining 40 percent of the marks, while the written examination mandates a minimum of 30 percent.

Bihar Board has cautioned students and parents against falling for fraudulent calls. The board said that it is aware that students and their parents might receive calls to increase their Bihar Board 12th Result, but has clarified that such calls should be treated as fake and fraudulent. The board has asked the students and their parents to not fall prey against such calls and report this to the board.

After the declaration of the Bihar Board 12th Result, students must visit their respective schools to collect the original BSEB mark sheets. To check the Bihar Board Class 12 result online, students need their class 12 roll code and roll number. 

Similar to other boards, the Bihar Board has been typically observing more participation from male students compared to female students. For example, in 2023, out of over 13 lakh students appearing in the BSEB Class 12 exams, 6,36,432 were girls while 6,81,795 were boys. In the 2021 Class 12 exams, a total of 13,50,233 students registered, with 6,46,540 being females and the remaining 7,03,693 being male candidates. In 2020, 12,04,834 students took the inter exam, comprising 6,56,301 boys and 5,48,533 girls.

However, this year saw a shift, with a total of 13,04,352 students appearing for the intermediate Class 12 BSEB exam, including 6,26,431 girls and 6,77,921 boys. This indicates a potential change in trends, particularly noticeable in Class 10 where girls demonstrated higher registration numbers, as seen in 2023 and 2024.

Several websites purporting to represent the Bihar Board are, in fact, fake. Students of Classes 12 and 10 are strongly cautioned against accessing these websites when attempting to check their scores. Last year's Commerce stream showcased achievers with improved percentages. Somya Sharma and Rajnish Kumar Pathak secured the top spot with 95%. Following closely behind, Bhumi Kumari, Tanuja Singh, and Komal Kumari shared the second position, each scoring an 94.8%. Payal Kumari and Srishti Akshay attained 94.4%, securing the third position. Vidhi Kumari and Sonam Kumari achieved 93.6%, while Puja Kumari and Nilam Kumari both achieved 93.4%. Tanisha Kumari and Aman Kumar rounded off the list of top 6 scorers with 93.2%.
