The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has constituted a central admission committee (CAC) to ensure a smooth and hassle-free admission process for the academic session 2024-25. The admission committee has been tasked with developing and improving the admission procedure and system as well as its efficient implementation.
The committee will be chaired by Professor Bhaskar Bhattacharya, Mahila Mahavidyalaya.
The committee will work to make sure that the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and PhD admissions are fully transparent, error-free, and are conducted timely.
The CAC has been authorised to prepare the BHU admission bulletins of the university for the undergraduate, postgraduate, research entrance test and special courses of study.
CAC will also look after developing other information dissemination tools including help videos and help desks for effective outreach of the university admission system and procedures to the end beneficiaries. It will publish the prospectus, application forms, and advertisements concerning BHU admission, a university statement said.
Professor Rakesh Pandey, department of psychology, professor GP Singh, department of statistics, professor Rajesh Kumar, department of chemistry, Dr Rajnish Kumar Singh, faculty of law, Dr Sabina Bano, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dr Chinmoy Roy, faculty of commerce, Dr Anil Kumar Maurya, faculty of law, Dr Sarvesh Pandey, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Saswati Roy, deputy registrar, controller of examination are the members of the CAC. Prashant, Assistant Registrar (Academic), has been named the member secretary.
Besides, three members of the CAC have been given the responsibility of exclusively looking after the PhD admissions process, apart from the UG and PG admissions.
Meanwhile, the university is also implementing the four year undergraduate programme (FYUP) for both honors and research — UG Honors and UG Honors with research from the academic session 2024-25.
